Privacy Policy
Platform Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 31, 2026
1. Who This Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy describes how Jeff Dill ("BeefShareStores," "we," "us," or "our") collects and uses information (a) about businesses that sign up to build a store on our platform ("Tenants") and (b) about visitors to our own marketing and signup pages.
This policy does not cover how an individual Tenant's storefront handles that Tenant's own customers' information. Each Tenant is responsible for their own privacy notice to their customers — see Section 5 below for how we, as the platform, handle that data on a Tenant's behalf.
2. Information We Collect
From Tenants, when you sign up and operate a store, we collect:
- Business and contact information you provide at signup — business name, your name, email, phone, and farm ZIP code;
- Account and login information, handled through our authentication provider, when you log into your store's admin console;
- Payment-processing account information — such as your Stripe Connect account ID and its onboarding/verification status — needed to route your customers' payments to you. We do not collect or store your customers' full card numbers; that is handled directly by Stripe;
- Content you upload — your branding, logo, colors, and product photos;
- Communications between you and us, such as support emails; and
- Basic technical information (like IP address and browser type) collected automatically when you use the Service, for security and troubleshooting.
From visitors to our signup and marketing pages, we collect whatever you voluntarily submit through our signup form (business name, contact information).
3. How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
- Create and operate your store, and provision the tools your storefront needs to run;
- Process the one-time setup fee and the ongoing platform fee described in our Terms of Service;
- Communicate with you — account invites, support, order-related notices, and updates to our policies;
- Maintain, secure, and improve the Service; and
- Comply with our own legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
4. Who We Share Information With
We do not sell Tenant or visitor personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make the platform work, and only as needed for that purpose:
- Stripe — payment processing and payout of your customers' orders to you;
- Our messaging provider — only if you enable text-message ordering, to send and receive order-related texts;
- Our transactional email provider — to send order, receipt, and account emails;
- Our hosting and database providers — to run and store the platform itself; and
- Anyone we're required to share it with by law, subpoena, or to protect the safety of the Service or its users.
5. How We Handle Your Customers' Information
When your customers place an order through your store — online or by text — the information they provide (name, email, phone, pickup or delivery address, and order details) is stored on the platform so your store can function. With respect to that information, we act only as a service provider carrying out your instructions as the Tenant; we do not use it for our own purposes, and we do not share it with other Tenants.
You, as the Tenant, are the one who determines what you collect from your customers and why, and you are responsible for having your own privacy notice that tells your customers how you (and, by extension, the platform running your store) handle their information.
6. Data Retention
We keep Tenant account information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for legal, tax, or accounting purposes, or to resolve disputes. Your customers' order information is retained on the same basis, tied to your store.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we handle, including relying on established providers (such as Stripe, Supabase, and Netlify) for the pieces of infrastructure they specialize in. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Cookies and Similar Technology
Our own pages use only the cookies needed to keep you logged into your admin console and to keep your storefront functioning (such as remembering items in a customer's cart). We do not currently use advertising or third-party tracking cookies on the platform.
9. Your Choices
You can review and update your business and account information at any time from your store's admin console. To request a copy of your information, or to request that we delete it (subject to what we're legally required to keep), contact us using the information in Section 12.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email or through your admin console before it takes effect.
