How much does BeefShareStores cost?
A one-time $599.00 setup fee, and a 1% fee on beef-share sales only. There's no fee on individual cut sales, and no monthly or annual subscription — ever.
Is there a monthly or annual subscription?
No. Most farm e-commerce platforms charge a recurring subscription on top of a setup fee. BeefShareStores charges the setup fee once, and after that only the per-share fee above — nothing else.
Do I have to pay before I can try it out?
No. You can build your entire store — products, pricing, and branding — for free, with no time limit. You only pay the setup fee once you're ready to go live.
Where does my customers' payment go?
Straight to your own Stripe account. BeefShareStores never holds or touches your money — a customer's payment goes directly from them to you.
Can anyone sign up and go live right away?
You can sign up any time, but going live depends on your state. Before any store can go live, we need that state's tax authority to confirm our sales/use tax collection status there — a one-time step per state, not something specific to your application. We'll email you the moment your state is cleared, and you can build your entire store in the meantime.
Can customers order by text message?
Yes, as an optional add-on you can turn on whenever you're ready.
Do I need my own website already?
No — your BeefShareStores store works on its own, with nothing separate required to sell your beef shares. That said, it's built specifically for beef-share sales, not for general marketing or blogging. If you want more room for that — a blog, your own domain's home page, broader customer communication — some ranchers choose to keep a separate marketing website and simply link their BeefShareStores store from it.
